The Audiovisual Technology Lab in Huawei’s German Research Center in Munich is responsible for advanced technology research, system solution/ algorithm/ software architecture design and strategic technical planning. The team goal is to enable ordinary consumers to create masterpieces. This Team will play a leading role in researching new audio and video technology and delivering specific solutions for next generation products including mobile devices, cloud services, IOT, etc. You will contribute to these activities being inserted into an international and experienced team of researchers.

Intern: AI-Based Image and Video Compression (m/f/d)
Your mission
Deep-learning-based image and video compression methods gain more and more importance. The first fully end-to-end trained image coder JPEG-AI was recently standardized and there are active explorations to employ AI-based tools, including end-to-end coders in the next generation of video coders. In your position as intern in our group you would actively participate in bringing AI-based technology to current international video coder development.
