Overview of Role We are a growing technology and manufacturing company based in Chatsworth, CA, with a dedicated team of 65 employees. Our company values innovation, collaboration, and the success of our employees. We are looking for a dynamic HR & Office Manager to play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations, fostering a positive employee experience, and supporting HR initiatives.The HR & Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing a range of office management and HR Operations support across various functions. This dual role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the office environment while also owning HR operations such as benefits administration, payroll support, performance management, and recruitmentassistance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and able to balance the needs of office management with HR tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Human Resources Support:
Orientation & Onboarding: Coordinate the new hire onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all new employees. Provide necessary training on office procedures, benefits, and company culture.
Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and enrollment.
Workers Compensation: Administer the company’s workers comp program ensuring compliance, reporting, ongoing training Payroll Support: Assist the payroll department with timekeeping and data entry for payroll processing. Ensure all necessary documents are completed for payroll and benefit deductions.
HR Operations: Support HR processes including employee record management, compliance with federal contracting regulations, wiki management, HR system admin, and other HR administrative functions.
Office Management:
Guest & Phone Management: Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and manage incoming calls. Greet guests professionally, ensure they are checked in, and direct them appropriately.
Office Upkeep & Vendor Management: Oversee office cleanliness and maintenance, including coordinating with vendors for office supplies, cleaning, and equipment maintenance. Ensure the office environment is organized and functional.
Employee Experience & Event Planning: Plan and organize company events, team-building activities, and celebrations (e.g., birthdays, holidays, team outings). Ensure a positive, engaging work environment for employees.
Kitchen Restocking & Supplies Management: Monitor and maintain the office kitchen, restocking snacks, beverages, and supplies. Ensure the kitchen area is tidy and stocked for employee use.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role with a mix of office management and HR responsibilities. Experience in a technology or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Knowledge of HR principles, benefits administration, and payroll processes.
Ability to manage vendor relationships and office supplies effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HR software (e.g., Gusto, Rippling, ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, BambooHR, or similar).
Event planning and employee engagement experience.
Other Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
