The Supervisor of Housekeeping plans daily projects scheduling of staff according to requirements. Responsible for assigning Housekeepers area to staff availability and special cleaning needs. Also facilitates smooth operation of wards and departments by responding promptly to request for assistance, and ensures correct chemical dilution rates used and infection control procedures. Must be able to complete the tasks and special projects within target and be able to demonstrate flexibility and adapt to changes in departmental and hospital policies and procedures as required.

• Supervision of housekeepers in their assigned area of responsibility
• Ensures that housekeepers are performing tasks as per schedule and as per standard required
• Ensures that tasks and special projects are completed within target
• Assists in the development of housekeeping standards and DPPs
• Ensures JCIA and Infection Control codes are maintained without exception to provide an Environmentally safe facility
• Plans daily projects and scheduling of staff according to requirements
• Planning and organizing of periodic and special cleaning assignments
• Adjust housekeepers area assigned to staff availability and special cleaning needs
• Supervises receipt and issue of materials and equipment
• Routinely orders supplies as needed in adequate time to ensure a proper amount is on hand at all times
• Ensures application of waste management code of practice
• Ensures equipment is used, stored cleaned and maintained in a safe manner
• Ensures effective use of manpower and material resources
• Ensures that the housekeeping keys are returned after every shift and proper record is maintained
• Ensures that log book, staff worksheets, supervisor inspection sheets and reports are maintained and updated

• High School Diploma
• Knowledge of JCIA Standard and Senior Medical Housekeeping Certificate (JCAHO Preferred)
• Ability to communicate easily with other nationalities

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Minimum five years' experience as Hospital Housekeeping Supervisor\
• Fluent English verbal and written communication skills
