About the role:
Cantina is seeking a strategic and creative Head of Community Programming to lead and shape our dynamic in-app community experience. You’ll oversee a team of Ambassadors, driving engagement through user-generated content (UGC), live programming, and interactive community events that connect AI-powered bots with users. This role is pivotal in curating shareable in-app content that showcases the community of Cantina.
Your work will blend editorial strategy, live content programming, UGC curation, and community management, all while collaborating closely with marketing, product, and other internal teams to elevate Cantina’s brand and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Editorial Strategy: Shape and implement content and programming across the app, including live events, featured bots, and community themes to ensure a vibrant, engaging user experience.
Manage Ambassador Team: Lead and inspire a team of Ambassadors who serve as the face of Cantina, driving community engagement, promoting UGC, and cultivating a positive, inclusive environment.
Curate & Coordinate Content: Oversee the UGC strategy, ensuring content is relevant, high-quality, and reflects the latest cultural trends. Develop a calendar of live events and UGC initiatives.
Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work closely with marketing, product, and social media teams to align content with brand identity, community standards, and business goals.
Analyze & Optimize: Track content performance and user engagement metrics, refining programming and strategies to improve community growth and retention.
Moderation and Safety: Collaborate with moderation teams to establish and maintain a safe, inclusive environment in all community rooms and events.
Trend Identification: Stay up-to-date on emerging trends in AI, social tech, and content consumption to keep Cantina’s programming fresh, relevant, and exciting.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
5+ years in community programming, community management, ideally within digital media or tech.
Experience managing and developing ambassador or community engagement teams.
Familiarity with UGC initiatives and live content creation
Strong team management and leadership skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing and product teams
Experience using data to optimize content strategies
Comfort with live programming, including hosting and moderating live events
Experience with experimental content or unorthodox campaigns that break the mold
Location:
This is a hybrid role, based in either Los Angeles or San Francisco, as a majority of the Community Team is based in those cities. Cantina, Inc. currently has offices located in Sunnyvale, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Brooklyn, NY.
Pay Equity:
In compliance with Pay Transparency Laws, the salary range for this role ranges from $125,000 - $150,000. When determining salary rate, a number of factors will be considered, including skills, experience, job scope, and location.
