GenePlanet, a leading EU-based biotech company and a global leader in preventive genetic tests, is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Department to shape the future of AI within our organization. In this role, you will lead a team of AI professionals and spearhead the integration of cutting-edge AI solutions into our biotech products and services, with a focus on NIPT, cancer screening, and lifestyle DNA tests.

As the department head, you will be pivotal in developing and implementing an AI strategy that supports our business objectives and drives innovation. Your leadership skills will be crucial in mentoring and empowering your team to achieve exceptional results.

Tasks

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership and Innovation:

• Develop and execute an AI strategy aligned with GenePlanet's business goals.

• Identify and evaluate emerging AI technologies, particularly those relevant to the biotech industry.

• Lead research and development of AI solutions to enhance diagnostic tests and personalized health solutions.

• Team and Project Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AI engineers.

• Plan, execute, and monitor AI projects, including the deployment of open-source models (Hugging Face), RAG projects with vector databases, and local use of image generation models (Stable Diffusion).

• Manage the entire lifecycle of AI projects, from concept to implementation and production environments.

• Technical Execution and Integration:

• Oversee the adaptation and testing of AI models (advanced prompting, parameter tuning, API testing).

• Automate workflows and integrate SaaS services and AI models using tools like LangChain/LlamaIndex, Zapier/Make/IFTTT/n8n.

• Collaborate with the development team to integrate AI solutions into web, mobile, and back-office systems.

• Ensure the quality and efficiency of AI solutions and their integration into production environments.

• Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with medical professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders to understand needs and develop relevant AI solutions.

• Present work results and recommendations to senior management.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and understandably.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing AI solutions, ideally in the biotech or healthcare sector.
• Experience in team leadership and project management.
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning, bioinformatics, and other AI technologies.
• Practical experience with using open-source models, RAG projects, and image generation models.
• Experience with automating workflows and integrating SaaS services.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Knowledge of modern development and production environments.
• Experience training AI models (fine-tuning, creating training sets).
