B GARAGE was founded in 2017 by a Ph.D. graduate from Stanford University. After having spent over five years researching robotics, computer vision, aeronautics, and drone autonomy, the founder and team set their minds on building a future where aerial robots would become an integral part of our daily lives without anyone necessarily piloting them. Together, our common goal is to redefine the user experience of drones and to expand the horizon for the use of drones.

Mission of the Role

In the future, drones will be utilized across various industries and become an essential part of our daily lives. Our goal is to change people's perception of drones and expand the horizons of drone applications. We are looking for a Hardware QA Engineer to join our team as a key player in driving technical excellence. As a Hardware QA Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our technology initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality verification and issue management for our products. You will leverage your expertise to verify and implement robust and reliable systems, ensuring optimal performance of our hardware products.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality assurance and testing activities for hardware products

• Manage quality issues of hardware products

• Analyze D-FMEA in the design stage and P-FMEA in the mass production stage

• Track bugs and issues through JIRA

• Manage outsourcing test companies

• Generate reports for test plans and results

• Set up the systems for reliability and performance testing

• Inspect incoming hardware parts

• Collaborate with relevant teams within the company

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. degree in electrical, electronics, computer science, or related fields

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance for electronic devices or robotics systems

• Excellent in drone/RC aircraft flight skills and testing

• Strong documentation skills

• Proactive and self-driven individual who thrives in a rapidly changing environment

• Intermediate or higher proficiency in English to collaborate with U.S. team

Optional Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in electrical, electronics, computer science, or related fields

• Analytical ability of 6 sigma black belt level

• Certified drone/UAV pilot

• Experiences in drone/RC aircraft design 

• Experiences in field testing of mobile robots, field tests of aerial vehicles, specifically drones.

• Understanding of ROS, PX4 flight stack, automatic control algorithms
