The Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) function plays a critical role in helping deliver against EY’s purpose and vision in this transformative age, by delivering distinctive, audience-centric marketing and communications that have a measurable impact.
The opportunity
In this senior position, you will work closely with EY leadership to develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy to support the growth agenda of Technology, AI and Innovation across the firm.
The Global Technology and AI BMC leader owns the development of key messages to drive brand awareness, internal engagement, external coverage and end-to-end communication across market activations. Strong leadership skills are a must, combined with the ability to build effective interpersonal relationships with multiple stakeholders, working effectively in a complex matrix organization and across many key activities.
A natural storyteller with a passion for innovation and an aptitude for technology is needed. Significant experience across the full suite of marketing and communications disciplines is required, including product marketing, social media, channel marketing, marketing and communications analytics, branding, advertising, media relations, public affairs, events and alliance relationships.
The successful candidate will have superior brand, marketing, and strategic communications skills, an agile mindset with the ability to navigate and lead change with a deep understanding and experience in the Technology and Innovation space.
An understanding of EY’s business as one of the world’s “Big Four” professional services firms and experience in professional services or a B2B marketing environment is essential, while experience of working in an agency would be beneficial. Experience in a senior marketing leadership role in Technology and/or Innovation is essential.
Success will be measured through senior leadership and BMC feedback, Media SoV, EY’s global brand survey, analyst recognitions, EY’s people engagement scores and other ROI metrics such as:
- Qualitative: quality, accuracy, and timeliness of advice; 360-degree feedback
- Quantitative: share of voice, brand surveys, and people surveys
- Campaign outcomes including, brand measures, lead generation and revenue.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the Global Technology, AI and Innovation teams, delivering integrated marketing programs that enhance reputation, drive revenue and build relationships.
- Collaborate with key technology and innovation teams across the firm, e.g Innovation, Client Technology, AI Program/Unit, Service Line and Industry specialists, to create an integrated technology and innovation narrative for EY.
- Own and direct the AI BMC activities to embed and infuse AI in BMC initiatives and activities as appropriate
- Act as Tech and AI SME and liaise with tech leadership for extended BMC teams
- Expand EY’s brand to encompass technology, tech-enabled assets and innovation – embed the new brand narrative across the firm - putting EY’s technology and AI capabilities, innovation approach and leadership at the heart of the EY brand.
- In parallel to expanding EY’s brand, there is a need to redefine and reposition both technology and innovation within the wider firm – ensuring brand leadership is built from the inside out.
- Originate new content and client experiences reinforced by positioning EY as a technology, AI and innovation leader in the market.
- Develop an integrated strategic brand, marketing and communications plan across industry sectors and service lines that drives revenue, relationships and reputation goals, working closely with the industry and Regional leadership teams.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive insights; developing and implementing metrics to measure results of marketing strategies; providing analysis and recommendations to support continuous growth, improved execution and team development.
- Obtain global and regional leadership agreement to the plan, build matrixed ownership and governance frameworks providing regular updates and ensuring delivery across all metrics.
- Work with the leadership team to develop and oversee delivery of a comprehensive and coordinated internal communication program that enables delivery of the annual business priorities.
- Drive creativity within the team to deliver a distinct tone of voice and creative that delivers key differentiation and impact.
- Work closely with senior leadership in crisis and issues management.
- Drive innovation in the use of digital channels and social media to create high impact client and employee experiences.
- Utilize new ideas and technology to enable impactful audience-centric communications and operational effectiveness, e.g. marketing automation, robotics, AI.
Culture, people and teaming
- Build and lead a high-performing team and acts as counselor, mentor, and coach.
- Define and deliver an operating model that uses a mix of onshore, offshore and nearshore centers to drive creativity and market impact cost-effectively.
- Share expert knowledge in brand, marketing, and communications issues, trends and long-term implications for EY.
- Foster a culture that respects diversity and inclusiveness and rewards and supports creativity and innovation within the BMC team.
- Be a change agent, owning the technology transformation agenda, ensuring that the BMC function is responding to market opportunities and business priorities.
- Work closely with the other BMC senior leaders to drive performance goals of improving service delivery, quality and cost efficiency of the function. Managing Agency relationships and budget responsibility.
- Drive collaboration and coordination between the BMC people supporting technology in EMEIA, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

Supervision Responsibilities
- Coordination of brand, marketing and communications for 20 markets globally.
- Act as senior advisor to the senior leadership team on all communication and marketing matters.
- Member of the Global BMC iGTM leadership team.
- Member of the Global Client Technology Executive.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in brand, communications and B2B marketing roles in a world-class global organization, with at least five years at a senior management level within a multinational technology organization with experience of delivering to an innovation agenda.
- Understanding and experience in product marketing delivering client solutions throughout the product lifecycle from incubation to BAU deployment.
- Deep and current expertise in brand, communications, and digital marketing, and ability to convey this expertise to support others to progress.
- Operational and business knowledge sufficient to contribute at a senior board level – including understanding of P&L, balance sheet, etc.
- Global travel and flexible working, including out of hours when a major crisis or issue emerges.
What we offer
The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges.
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $171,400 to $339,400. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $205,700 to $385,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
