The main responsibilities of the role will include:
Build and refine predictive models for precision medicine diagnostics using AI and ML approaches.
Analyze genetic, phenotypic and multi-omic datasets using precision medicine platform, Patient Seek.
Develop new analytical features for the Patient Seek precision medicine platform.
Coordinate with other researchers and external collaborators to ensure the projects progress smoothly and efficiently.
Communicate results to the wider organization.
Ensure record keeping and archiving of data is up to date and accurate.
Ensure external data privacy policies are adhered to.
Support business development activities when required.
Support reputational building with publications and poster and oral presentations at conferences.
Support appropriate protection of genetic and biological intellectual property.
Experience Skills Required:
Essential
Ph.D. (or M.Sc. + relevant experience) in data science, biostatistics, bioinformatics or equivalent experience.
Experience working with large biological datasets (omics, EHR, RWE, clinical phenotypes)
Experience working with Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence methods.
Knowledge and understanding of data privacy issues and requirements.
Experience with IT tools (e.g., cloud computing, AWS, Linux, HPC), programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL, bash), and version control management (e.g., git).
Highly self-motivated, flexible and organized.
The ability to work independently but know when additional input is required.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Creative thinking and enthusiasm for innovation.
Desirable
Knowledge and understanding of Bayesian statistical methods.
Experience modelling diverse datasets (ideally biological / clinical)
Experience working with longitudinal biological or clinical data.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team in a biotech or pharma setting
