What We Need:

We are looking for a Generative AI Architect to join our Information Technology organization.  In this position, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of Generative AI applications and solutions across the enterprise.  You will consult with stakeholders to understand business needs, develop robust strategies, and build scalable, high performance generative AI solutions that provide HNI with a competitive advantage. 

This position requires experience in generative AI applications, frameworks, and deployment strategies, with a focus on building and integrating AI solutions that align with business objectives. 

What You Will Do:

  • Architect Generative AI Solutions: Design and develop end-to-end generative AI applications that meet business needs, collaborating with IT and business leadership to align AI capabilities with organizational goals.
  • Application Development: Develop the architecture and framework for generative AI cloud-based applications, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and high-performing. Lead discussions with development teams to integrate generative AI models into enterprise applications.
  • Design and Implementation: Create detailed design plans for AI-powered solutions, including selecting the appropriate generative AI models, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), ensuring proper deployment and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Testing & Optimization: Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of AI models, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Continuously monitor the performance of generative AI applications and recommend optimizations.
  • Lead Technical Teams: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, guiding the adoption of generative AI tools and methodologies across the organization.
  • Evaluate and Integrate New Technologies: Stay up to date with advancements in generative AI technologies, tools, and frameworks. Identify and integrate the latest innovations into HNI’s generative AI ecosystem.
  • Risk Management: Operate with a “risk-aware” mindset, anticipating and addressing potential challenges or unintended consequences of AI implementations.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.  
  • At least 7 years of experience in roles such as AI Architect, Engineer, or Application Developer, with a recent focus on designing and implementing AI solutions.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering generative AI applications, leveraging technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Foundation Models, or similar generative AI systems.
  • Generative AI Expertise:
    • Deep knowledge of generative AI concepts such as transformer models, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns.
    • Familiarity with relevant AI models and technologies such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, Falcon, LLaMA, Cohere, and others.
  • Development and Integration Skills:
    • Basic understanding of software development principles and hands-on experience working closely with developers to build AI-powered applications.
    • Ability to design scalable generative AI applications, ensuring seamless integration into business workflows.
  • Ability to consult with and influence stakeholders at various levels, explaining the benefits and challenges of generative AI solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
