Job Title: General Manager – IT Services

Position Overview:

The General Manager (GM) of the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and operational efficiency of the unit within the IT services domain. The GM will lead the unit to achieve its business objectives by focusing on strategic planning, sales growth, technical delivery, and team leadership. This position requires strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and leadership to ensure the success of the SBU in the MENA region.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
  • Align the SBU’s goals with the organization’s strategic direction and ensure profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategic, business, financial, and operational plans.
  • Promote a cohesive work environment and foster collaboration across departments.
Business Development and Sales:
  • Drive sales and marketing efforts to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify and onboard new clients while retaining existing clients.
  • Enhance market presence through innovative value propositions and lead-generation strategies.
Operational Management:
  • Oversee the delivery of IT consulting, strategy consulting, project management, compliance, and training services.
  • Manage presales, implementation, and technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure operational efficiency through process improvement and resource optimization.
Financial Oversight:
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Manage revenue, expenses, and cash flow to drive consistent growth and profitability.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement corrective measures for underperformance.
Client and Partner Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Represent the SBU in high-profile meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service delivery and support.
Team Leadership:
  • Build and manage a diverse, high-performing team aligned with business needs.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities for team members.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Governance and Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards, governance policies, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor risk management processes to mitigate potential business risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: MBA or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 17+ years in senior management roles within the IT services industry.
    • Proven track record of growing and managing operations across multiple countries, particularly within the GCC/MENA region.
    • Expertise in IT services, professional services, and solutions delivery.
  • Skills:
    • Strategic planning and business development.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership abilities.
    • Proficiency in financial management and operational efficiency.
