General Manager / Business Director (Retail, AI Tech)

The Company is a well-established, Asia-based technology and marketing group known for delivering innovative, consumer-focused solutions. With a strong presence across Asia and expanding globally, the company leverages cutting-edge technology to create engaging experiences for diverse audiences in sectors like technology, lifestyle, and retail. The group is now launching an exciting new B2B2C/B2C product line: an AI-powered O2O interactive installation and app, designed to deliver personalized, immersive experiences that captivate consumers and elevate brand engagement.

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead the strategic and operational efforts for this innovative AI-driven product in the Hong Kong market. Reporting to the CEO, this role will drive business growth, foster stakeholder relationships, and shape the products evolution with creativity and a business-savvy mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan for the AI-powered O2O interactive installation/app, focusing on market penetration and growth in Hong Kong.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including space providers, business users, and partners, to drive adoption and collaboration.
  • Oversee product development and feature enhancement, ensuring alignment with market needs, consumer trends, and business objectives.
  • Manage P&L, distribution channels, and operational performance, optimizing resources to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, tech, operations) to ensure seamless execution of product strategies and initiatives.
  • Leverage retail and tech industry insights to identify opportunities for innovation, partnerships, and brand amplification.
  • Act as a creative strategist, contributing imaginative ideas to evolve the products features and enhance its consumer appeal.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Represent the company in industry events, networking opportunities, and stakeholder discussions to elevate the products presence.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a small team, fostering a culture of innovation, curiosity, and results-driven collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a leadership role, ideally in retail, technology, or consumer-facing sectors with a focus on business development, partnerships, or operations.
  • Strong understanding of retail dynamics, distribution channels, and the tech landscape, with a passion for innovation and emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) and English to engage effectively with local stakeholders and global teams.
  • Business-savvy mindset with a track record of driving growth, managing P&L, and optimizing operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and curious approach, with the ability to envision and develop innovative product features and strategies.
  • Bachelors degree in business, management, marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • International vision with exposure to global markets and an understanding of diverse consumer preferences.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to liaise with stakeholders and inspire teams.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to anticipate market needs and opportunities.
