  • The Team: The Observability Development team, part of Digital Technology Services (DTS), is responsible for the feature code development and operations of an enterprise scale observability solution. The solution is built on top of proven open-source Telegraf, Clickhouse and Grafana technologies combined with innovative S&P Global developed code to create a self-service platform, with agents that discover applications and self-configure.

    The Impact: The Senior Lead Developer - Observability plays a critical role in the development and support the observability solution deployed to tens of thousands of endpoints across the enterprise. The team interact with and gather telemetry from that adds value to users across the company on all types of technology platforms. This role will add to the development and of this high profile rapidly growing innovative cost disruptive observability solution.

    Responsibilities:
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and alerts to present insights.
  • Design and optimize data integrations, ingestion, transformation, and enrichment.
  • Establish a repeatable process to monitor and optimize data ingestion and retention on continuous basis. Implement continuous improvements to balance performance, stability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Work closely with information security, cloud, server, storage, network, and application development teams to understand their requirements and design and implement optimal solution.
  • Participate actively in diagnose, resolve stability and performance incidents.
  • Own the delivery of small to medium size projects where you will contribute directly as an individual and take help of few others in the team.
  • Suggest improvements to current processes and tools we use and implementation.
  • Apply Generative AI models to solve diverse customer problems and derive meaningful insights from infrastructure datasets. 
  • Analyze and extract valuable insights from a variety of datasets, leveraging generative AI techniques to inform data-driven decisions. 
  • Use generative AI to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and implement innovative solutions tailored to customer needs. 
  • Work closely with the DTS Data Lakes and ML team, fostering a collaborative atmosphere to drive impactful outcomes. 
  • Employ a combination of data engineering skills, ML building experience, and Generative AI knowledge to implement high-quality solutions. 
  •  Ensure that solutions developed are customer-focused, addressing specific requirements and improving overall satisfaction. 

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Data ingestion (ETL), querying, data analysis, and ability to link datasets using SPL, SQL, Splunk, and PowerBI or similar technologies.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in AWS or other public cloud platforms. Experience on AWS RDS, AWS EMR, AWS Athena, AWS Glue, AWS Firehose is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and tuning large-scale data-based systems using relational, columnar, or NoSQL technologies.
  • Experience on NiFi, Apache Hadoop, Apache Distributed data processing framework, Hive, Machine Learning is a plus.
  • Experience on logging and monitoring platforms like Elastic and Splunk is a plus.
  • Highly motivated team player who works well with technical resources in distributed time zones.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively
