About the Team

The Intelligence and Investigations team seeks to rapidly detect and disrupt abuse in AI and generative AI technologies to ensure their safe use. We are dedicated to identifying emerging abuse trends, analyzing risks, and working with our internal partners to implement effective mitigation strategies to protect against misuse. Our efforts contribute to OpenAI's overarching goal of developing AI that benefits humanity.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Frontend Engineer to design, build, and maintain innovative and user-friendly interfaces for our abuse detection platforms. In this role, you will develop user interfaces for applications that enable the composition and orchestration of AI agents dedicated to investigations and risk mitigation.

Candidates should have experience building intuitive web applications, with a strong foundation in React and Next.js. Knowledge of authentication systems, data visualization and building workflow tools will also be beneficial. The ideal candidate will be familiar with agent orchestration and emerging frameworks.

We value professionals dedicated to promoting the responsible use of AI. Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning in the rapidly evolving field of AI are also key traits for this role.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build responsive, accessible, and easy-to-use internal and external tools.

  • Develop interactive interfaces that support the composition and orchestration of AI agents for abuse investigations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex workflows into user-friendly applications.

  • Use React and Next.js to create robust, scalable frontend solutions.

  • Integrate with internal APIs and data systems.

  • Continuously improve the user experience of our products.

  • Contribute to UI/UX design discussions and help define frontend best practices.

  • Are adaptable and eager to learn new technologies as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
