As a Data Scientist, you closely collaborate with colleagues from business and IT to design data-driven solutions that will help improve our company. We will rely on you to build machine learning (ML) models or other solutions to identify patterns in our data and extract valuable business insights. In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for modeling and algorithms.

What to do:

  • You deliver typical data science tasks in data driven projects, where development of predictive models and learning from data measurably supports our internal business customers (Retail, Corporate, Data Quality, etc.) in areas such as improved customer experience, sales, churn prevention, transaction classification, text classification, …
  • You are ready to deliver in team and independently, proactively searching for assistance of team and partner departments to deliver on time
  • You show genuine curiosity and thinking about how to bring innovative problem solutions into practical application in banking industry
  • You deliver and support in all phases of the full Data Science process, but with different level of expectations and time allocation, where data and feature engineering, as well as search for optimal parameters within chosen model class take the most of time
  • You are open to learn how to serve banking business owners, even in international projects, through strong interest in data and technology

Requirements

You check these boxes:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree with a focus on quantitative disciplines
  • Minimum of 7 years practical experience as a Data Scientist
  • Experience in leading small to medium sized teams in Data Science projects
  • Experience in supervising other Data Scientists
  • Good understanding of statistical methods and common machine learning algorithms
  • Good know-how in data visualization
  • Experience in development and implementation of generative AI solutions (prompt-engineering techniques for Large Language Models, training of LLMs) is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Python, Spark and SQL (with practical experience). Hands-on experience with Databricks is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the banking business
  • Language skills: English full professional proficiency, German is a plus
