What You'll Do

This is a senior IT leadership role at a highly regulated and systemically important financial institution.  The role requires an individual who can successfully interface with OCC’s executive management.   As an executive level leader, effective and polished communication, strong leadership and team development, resource management discipline, and the ability to effectively execute on multiple fronts are baseline expectations for this role.  The firm is responsible for operating within the global financial market infrastructure as a critical service provider to market participants.  OCC places critical emphasis on compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintains high standards for information confidentiality, operational integrity and system availability.   For the right candidate this is a highly rewarding and challenging role that requires well developed leadership, problem solving, strategic decision making, and execution capabilities.  The candidate will also possess a willingness and demonstrated ability to drive organizational change.

Lead the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions across our organization. This senior executive will focus on building and managing a product that ensures efficient user access and entitlements, selects and maintains AI models tailored for the organization’s specific needs, and provides robust operational support.

As a member of the AI & Analytics Governance Working Group recommend use cases, evaluate risks associated with application of AI, and propose solutions to manage risks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

Lead the technology organization by:

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions across the organization. Specifically work with Head of Data, Security, and IT teams to drive consensus and finalize solution designs

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to AI deployment and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Compliance: Support demonstrating compliance through participating in regulatory and internal audit exams

  • Project Oversight: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.

  • Talent Acquisition: Identify and recruit top technical talent to build and sustain a high-performing AI team.

  • Talent Management: Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals.

  • AI Product Development: Lead the creation of an AI products that enable self-service while preserving the guard rails for user access, entitlements, secure and appropriate access to AI tools and data.

  • Model Selection and Management: Oversee the selection and deployment of AI models, ensuring they are appropriate for specific organizational tasks and objectives.

  • Model Testing and Applicability: Ensure AI models are routinely tested, updated, and validated for ongoing applicability to our unique OCC (Organizational, Compliance, and Control) problems.

  • Customization for OCC Use Cases: Seed and tailor AI models to fit specific OCC use cases, enhancing their relevance and effectiveness.

  • Data Sourcing and Integration: Source data from internal systems to feed AI models, ensuring they provide responses tailored to OCC-specific requirements.

  • Operational Support: Provide advanced operational support for the AI system, stepping in to assist level one support when additional expertise is needed.

  • Innovation and Strategy: Stay abreast of AI trends and technologies, continuously driving innovation and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of AI advancements.

  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success and impact of AI initiatives.

  • Manage a team of managers and individual contributors

Technical Skills:

  • None

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior leadership roles requiring leadership through influences vs. having a large team of direct reports. 

  • Ideally financial industry experience and/ or at a highly complex regulated technology organization.

  • Depth and breadth of experience leading in a highly dynamic technology and business landscape.

  • Proven ability to establish and execute technology strategy to deliver business outcomes; ability to conceive and implement enterprise-wide strategies and manage the associated governance processes.
