Cerebras has developed a radically new chip and system to dramatically accelerate deep learning applications. Our system runs training and inference workloads orders of magnitude faster than contemporary machines, fundamentally changing the way ML researchers work and pursue AI innovation.
We are innovating at every level of the stack – from chip, to microcode, to power delivery and cooling, to new algorithms and network architectures at the cutting edge of ML research. Our fully-integrated system delivers unprecedented performance because it is built from the ground up for deep learning workloads.
The Role
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for Pre-silicon emulation and verification of Cerebras’s next generation Wafer Scale Engines (WSE) .
Responsibilities
- Work on create emulation infrastructure to enable silicon, this would be accelerable transactors, scoreboards, models as well as speed adaptors for real world workload testing
- Compile build and run emulation testbenches to verify silicon of highest quality
- Develop self-checking metrics, as well as instrumentation for debug and coverage
Skills & Qualifications
- BS or MS in EE, ECE, CS or equivalent work experience
- 15+ years of industry experience
- 10+ years of experience in Pre-silicon hardware Emulation using Zebu/Palladium/Veloce platforms
- Experience in working with both emulation modes such as Testbench acceleration (TBA/TBX/SA) mode with virtual transactors as well as In-circuit-emulation(ICE) using speed bridges/adaptors to external hardware devices at speed like PCIE/NIC cards.
- Ability to work across domains: Emulation (Platform, transactors, compilation, performance), Design Verification (testbench development, for CPU and Protocols like Ethernet) and Python based test environments that can span from Pre-Silicon to Post -Silicon.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of computer architecture and networking
- Good knowledge of Ethernet networking for datacenters
- Good Coding in SystemVerilog/Verilog/C and in scripting in languages such as Python and/or Perl
- Good interpersonal skills, ability & desire to work as a standout colleague
- Proven track record of working cross-functionally learning fast and driving issues to closure
Preferred
- Knowledge of RDMA over Ethernet(ROCE), Flow control mechanisms
- Background in CPU based design, assembly level code and loading bin and elf in CPU memory and execution with self checking
- Knowledge of assertions for Emulation
- Previous work in emulation for AI-ML with multiple CPU cores.
- Familiarity creating infrastructure for cloud based and on premises emulation platforms.
