The GxP Electrical Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory requirements, and industry standards while supporting production and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, including HVAC, production machinery, and control systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GxP, GMP, FDA, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in manufacturing and laboratory environments.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records in compliance with documentation and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Calibrate and test equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the installation and qualification of new equipment and systems.
  • Support validation and commissioning activities by providing technical expertise and documentation.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while handling hazardous materials and working with high-voltage systems.
  • Participate in audits and inspections, providing necessary technical documentation and corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GxP, and regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical setting.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems, PLCs, motors, pumps, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and maintenance records.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, HVAC Certification).
  • Experience working in a cleanroom or sterile manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of automation and control systems.
