In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. The objective of this internship is to evaluate the potential of predictive models for reducing sample sizes in clinical trials. Specifically, we want to assess the impact of a prognostic score, derived from disease progression modelling or machine learning techniques, on sample size reduction in Huntington's Disease trials. To accomplish this, the intern will integrate information from natural history studies and clinical trial data to develop predictive models of disease progression.
You are a Bachelor’s, Master's or PhD student specializing in computational biology, applied mathematics, statistics, or physics, with experience in machine learning techniques such as Random Forests, Gradient Boosting Machines, and Lasso Regression.
You have strong programming skills in Julia, R, and/or Python.
Familiarity with code documentation tools, such as GitLab and GitHub, is a plus.
You possess excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
You are a team player with strong communication skills, a focused work style, and a results-driven mindset.
