Job Description

This opportunity is in Visa's Machine Learning Platform.  The Machine Learning Platform provides soft infrastructure support to Visa's data scientists and researchers.  We enable the training of statistical and machine learning models via development and maintenance of a distributed computing stack.  Frameworks used in the stack are:  Kubernetes, Airflow, Ray, Torch, Tensorflow, XGBoost, and Spark.  Development is primarily in Python and Go.   

We are a cross-functional team that interfaces both with internal data science and research clients as well as other hard and soft infrastructure teams.  

The responsibilities for this role include: 

--Consolidating the rich data sources available regarding usage of the platform, especially accelerator usage.  

--Creating a monitoring and analysis framework for the consolidated data set 

--Using empirical and mathematical methods to analyze the consolidated data set, in order to improve the efficiency of our accelerator deployment 

--Supervision of junior data scientists 

--Interaction with data science customers, including taking and scoping requirements, consolidation and prioritization of tasks, and Agile task management.  

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7
years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work
experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of
relevant work experience
• At least 5 years work experience in a supervisory data science or machine
learning role
• Post-bac training in data science or machine learning
• Python
• SQL
• Data analysis
• Ability to communicate data analytic results verbally and in writing to both
technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with the Agile development framework

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,100.00 to 250,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
