Director of Field Operations (f/m/d)

Starting date: as soon as possible.
Compensation package: €120,000 - €135,000 in yearly salary, €120,000 - €180,000 in equity. Additionally, up to €5,000 p.a. in company benefits
Work model: Hybrid in Munich; Travel is required to client locations up to 40% of the time.

Your role

As our Director of Field Operations (f/m/d), you will be responsible for expanding and leading our operations at customer sites, from installation to service and maintenance. 

You will work directly with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure the Field Operations department exceeds our customer’s expectations by delivering fast and high-quality service.

We are moving very fast, expanding to new geographies and verticals. With your wealth of experience and dedication to high standards, continuous improvement, and operational excellence, you will be a vital driver in propelling the business forward. 

Your responsibilities

As the leader who will shape how we build our field operations, you will: 

  • Lead a diverse, global, and high-performing team of Field Engineers and Project Managers.

  • Shape the structures and processes of your team to adapt to new realities as we scale across geographies and product verticals.

  • Ensure that we exceed our customer’s expectations through your unwavering focus on speed and quality of service.

  • Continuously improve our operational process and ways of working. You see every error as an opportunity to improve and an obligation to improve next time. 

  • Define and operationalize the strategic roadmap for Field Operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and goals.

  • Seamlessly coordinate planning and on-site Operations with our partners (e.g., automation equipment, MRI).

  • Closely work with teams across the company, including Customer Success, Technical Support, Systems Engineering, and Product.

Experience and skills

  • 10+ years of experience working in operations focused on installation, service, and maintenance.

  • Relevant experience deploying and managing geographically distributed high-value assets.

  • Ideally, you have gained experience in a high-growth (deep-) tech company.

  • You understand technical details such as site planning or requirement specifications and can discuss them in detail.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify operational (in-) efficiencies and improvements.

  • Experience in implementing operational strategies that drive efficiency and quality.

  • Proven track record of building and leading global high-performing teams. 

  • Senior and highly skilled communicator able to build effective relationships with customers, partners, and within the organization.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to various European sites. Travel expenses are fully covered by the company.

  • EU driver's Class B driver's license is required.
