Company Description

The Director of Data Science is responsible for leading the Red Bull North America (RBNA) Data Science team in close collaboration with the Red Bull Global Headquarters (RBHQ) Data Science department to deliver the most exciting data-driven shareholder value adding initiatives for our market. You will be responsible for partnering with business leaders and Global Data Science to help enable the long-term strategy, development, and execution of Data Science assets to optimize the use and value of data solutions across the organization. This includes becoming a trusted partner to the local and global business partners and building a team that can translate business questions into analytical problems and for offering Data Science services into production that support ongoing decision-making. A key success factor will be the ability to translate and implement RBHQ Data Science concepts according to the needs and constraints of the North American market.

We're looking for someone with a solid experience managing applied statistics, advanced analytics and last-mile-implementation projects who can also interface directly with senior stakeholders in the business and be the outward face of the local Data Science team as an extension of the Global Data Science department.

To be successful in this role you must have a bias to action and a passion for being a stakeholder and contributor to overall business strategy. You should feel strongly about measuring the results of Data Science efforts and for challenging the status quo when necessary. Finally, you should be an expert at balancing the trade-off between full ownership and harmonious collaboration between the various stakeholders, including the Global Data Science teams.

Job Description

SHAPE DATA STRATEGY

Lead the development and execution of Data strategy for North America and be a key RBNA representative for the RBHQ Data Science vision.

Take an active innovation role in the company by bringing new techniques and approaches to opportunities within the RBNA business, while never losing track of pragmatic or heuristic solutions should they add most of the value for a fraction of the effort.

Guide the approach for building statistical models, advanced analytics projects, and data science services; while actively seeking to benefit from the learnings already achieved by the RBHQ Data Science department.

Act as a driver to understand challenges within our Marketing and Sales organizations and propose solutions that help enable growth, drive revenue, while never losing sight of profitability and shareholder value.

LEAD THE DATA SCIENCE TEAM

Responsible for leading, coaching and developing a best-in-class Data Science team

Lead a team focused on the building of data science solutions – not limited to machine learning or Gen AI – using internal data in combination with various external datasets (e.g., survey data) to support marketing and sales decision-makers.

BE A TRUSTED PARTNER

Act as a partner and liaison to the Red Bull North America team with the ability to communicate local challenges and opportunities to global Data Science Stakeholders for alignment, support, and guidance.

Synthesize complex, technical concepts and outputs into compelling story lines that resonate with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.

Collaborate closely with the local and global IT and Engineering teams to shape the continued development of the Data Science platform and tool ecosystem.

DELIVER VALUE WITH DATA

In partnership with the Global Data Science strategy, share knowledge, embrace techniques, and reason pragmatically to advance the collective knowledge and skills of our Data Science practice for the RBNA business.

Deploy Data Science Services to production and continuously measure their value.

Act as a force multiplier by educating, connecting, and empowering the wider Data community at Red Bull with the right tools, skill, and data.

Qualifications

7+ years' relevant work experience

5+ years' experience leading and scaling teams of data scientists

Robust, fundamental expertise in areas of statistical methods, data engineering, data literacy, and AI (not focused on LLMs/GenAI).

Flexibility to operate across technologies and ability to work on both complex large-scale projects and smaller quick-win initiatives.

Strong programming skills (R, Python, SQL)

Additional Information

The base salary range for this position is $199,5000 to $220,500 + cash incentives Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
