The Role:

The Deal Desk Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Sales organization on all renewal and new business deal related matters. They will serve as the trusted advisor to the Sales team on deal structure and quoting, as well as advise the team on contract options and value propositioning to help drive deal closure. The Analyst will be heavily involved in pricing, quoting, and contracting deals, while also managing activities that support customer growth and retention. The Analyst will work with various business stakeholders across Sales, Legal, Finance, Customer Success, and Product to provide critical insight into CommerceIQ’s customer base while supporting day-to-day commercial deal operations.

This position reports to the Director, Deal Desk and is a hybrid position with the expectation of working from our Mountain View, CA headquarters 3 days per week.

What You'll Do:

  • Review pricing and costs to evaluate deal margins and profitability, and ensure the required approvals are documented
  • Create customer commercial contracts and ensure they follow CommerceIQ’s company policies and financial guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Product, and Legal: be the first point of contact and project manager for late-stage deals
  • Monitor the Deal Desk case queue in Salesforce, consistently maintaining case SLAs
  • Execute our contract renewal strategy to drive price increases and multi-year contract commitments within our existing customer base.
  • Partners with Sales to accelerate the quoting process through operational efficiencies, and sales enablement training calls
  • Manage a pipeline of renewal opportunities and provide business, product knowledge, and analytical support.
  • Proactively work with the Sales & Customer Success teams to prepare contracts in advance to ensure early renewals.
  • Identify process and system improvements in the quote-to-cash process, turn those recommendations into functional requirements, and work cross functionally to get the projects built, tested, and released.
  • Helps Sales reps navigate revenue operations tools (Salesforce, Google Docs, etc) to produce accurate quotes and contracts that lead to successful wins.
  • Collaborates with impacted parties to identify solutions for common Quote to Cash errors
  • Send contracts to customers via DocuSign for electronic signature.
  • Complete ad-hoc business operations projects as required.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 4+ years experience working with sales teams in a deal desk/sales operations or commercial sales support function
  • Experience in the Enterprise SaaS/B2B Industry - Deal Desk, Order Management, Finance Operations, Sales Operations or Pricing experience preferred
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; must be able to foster & maintain strong partnering relationships with sales and internal departments in a remote environment 
  • Highly organized, and strong attention to details
  • Excellent communicator, self-aware, transparent, professional, and open to feedback
  • Exceptional analytical skills and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and highly proficient in Salesforce.com and Google workspace tools (Google Docs, Sheets, etc) and Microsoft Office, (Salesforce CPQ experience is a plus)
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to complete tasks, dependable with deliverables and deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize at times of high volume, schedule flexibility during end of calendar quarters
  • Basic understanding of revenue recognition rules

  • Experience in a SaaS startup 
  • Salesforce CPQ experience
  • Interest or knowledge in ecommerce

Benefits & Perks: 

The typical base pay range for this role across the US is USD: $78,000 - $122,000/per year.    

This base pay range may be inclusive of several career levels at CommerceIQ and will be narrowed based on a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
