INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Data Scientist with a solid background in utilities industry, specifically within transmission systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the operational challenges and data opportunities on transmission sites, and be able to develop scalable, practical solutions that support efficiency, reliability, and performance improvement. This role is pivotal in supporting Industrial Digitalization Solutions across industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and Manufacturing. This role is critical in turning complex data from diverse transmission site systems into actionable insights and predictive models that help drive smarter decision-making. What You’ll Lead and Deliver:

  • Collaborate with transmission engineering, operations, and IT teams to identify high-impact analytical use cases across transmission sites.
  • Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from SCADA systems, asset sensors, maintenance records, outage logs, and GIS platforms.
  • Leverage OSI PI System data for real-time analytics and historical trend analysis to improve transmission asset performance and reliability.
  • Integrate and analyze data from Oracle Meter Data Management (MDM) systems to support load forecasting, anomaly detection, and customer impact analysis.
  • Build and deploy predictive models for failure detection, asset life forecasting, load prediction, and condition-based maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations to support field operations and strategic decision-making.
  • Apply machine learning and statistical modeling to enhance grid reliability, optimize transmission asset utilization, and reduce operational risk.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance practices are applied across all transmission data assets.
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for site-level teams and senior leadership.
  • Support the integration of AI/ML into existing OT/IT infrastructure at transmission sites.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a data scientist, with at least 1–2 years in the utilities or energy transmission sector.

Experience:

  • Proven experience working with transmission datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with OSI PI and Oracle MDM systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with geospatial data and visualization tools (e.g., GIS, QGIS, or ArcGIS) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) and big data frameworks (e.g., Spark) is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL; familiarity with data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and field operators.
