Outbound Communications organization is seeking a highly motivated scientist. In Outbound, we are innovating and building scientific solutions to delight Amazon customers with timely, highly personalized and relevant marketing messages across digital channels such as email, mobile and SMS. As a scientist in Outbound, you will be tasked with leading scientific innovations to use generative AI technology and create personalized messages using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques for customers across emails, mobile push, etc. You will use large language models (LLMs) fuelling the AI growth today, use retrieval augmented generation (RAG) along with enhanced prompt engineering as the framework to combine LLMs with information retrieval systems and build models to generate and optimize marketing messages for customers. Key job responsibilitiesAs a scientist in Outbound, you will own end-to-end model development for generating personalized messages for customers. You will partner with product managers and business stakeholders to understand the business/marketing use-cases. You will translate those often open-ended requirements to scientific problems, conduct relevant research, and spearhead development of state-of-the-art models. You will define success metrics and independently run experiments to gauge efficiency of your models. You will design and set-up experiments to gauge efficiency of the messages in real-world. You will present scientific findings product/marketing stakeholders and guide them to take decisions that maximize benefits for Amazon in the long-run. You will code effectively and closely partner with the software engineering team to execute your solutions in production. You will document and publish your research-driven solutions to influence the scientific community in and outside of Amazon. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
