Job Purpose
The Data Scientist develops and maintains Getinge’s data platform, designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines, data cleansing procedures, analytics notebooks, and storage structures. They assist in shaping data governance protocols, data quality assurance processes, performance and cost optimization, disaster recovery planning, and DevOps processes, collaborating closely within the Digital Engineering IT group, as well as with business analysts, data consumption teams, and machine learning groups. They may be called upon to accomplish related duties and participate in special projects as needed.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Create data science based solutions involving modern ML concepts applied to business use-cases
- Work in and develop LLM or other GenAI capabilities to address business use-cases
- Perform data visualizations and EDA to better understand the usage of existing data to solve business problems
- Develop code to categorize, store and catalog data clusters to better prep them for use in ML solutions
- Run large-scale experiments, from unsupervised pre-training, to fine-tuning, retrieval augmentation and prompt engineering
- Help with MLOps as necessary to study and maintain the good health of models running in production
- Scale models (LLM or otherwise) for use in production
- Design and develop high-quality prompts and templates that guide the behavior and responses of LLM
- Craft prompts to elicit specific information or control the model's output, ensuring desired accuracy, relevance, and language fluency. Optimize prompts to improve user interactions and system performance
- Evaluate LLM models on statistical tests, business metrics, and bias an other regulatory metrics
- Investigating the current state of the art of experimentation practices and causal inferencing/ML techniques identifying opportunities for upscaling the methodology best practices
- Develop and execute advanced data-driven experiments to optimize various aspects of Getinge’s business
- Creation of test hypothesis, experiment design including KPI selection, and collection and analysis of data.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Data Science, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Azure Cloud Services, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and others.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python or R ( with knowledge of Pandas, NumPy etc.).
- Proficiency in popular ML frameworks ( Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch )
- Proficiency in popular data visualization tools such as (Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly)
- Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark etc. are a big plus.
- Understanding ethical considerations in Data Science, including privacy, bias is a plus
- Have taken relevant courses in Math, Statistics and Datascience that are required to be a data scientist
- Experience and skills in sourcing data, EDA, data wrangling and cleansing, reading and writing data in an hyper-scaler environment
- Knowledge of the data science pipeline (end to end) and associated tools
- Experience in designing and implementing data science solutions in a hyper-scaler environment.
- Experience using a notebook based environment and have opinions on what works for you the best
- Familiarity in using LLM technologies to build enterprise wide solutions
- Experience with fine-tuning vs inference with LLMs
- Proven ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with internal customers at all levels in a team environment. Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary.
- Strong, demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Word/Excel)
