Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Data Scientist II 

Drive data-empowered impact as a Data Scientist II, applying advanced analytics, regression models, and optimization techniques to solve complex business and clinical challenges. Work independently on high-impact projects in healthcare, including radiology and medical physics, extracting insights, building predictive and prescriptive models, and visualizing data to inform decisions. Join a team where your expertise shapes real-world solutions. 

Role Overview: 

• Analyzes complex datasets using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques. 

• Develops predictive models, algorithms, and optimization tools to support business decisions. 

• Works independently while contributing to technical discussions and improving solutions. 

• Serves as a project lead, guiding product development. 

• Focuses on data extraction, manipulation, modeling, and visualization, particularly in radiology and medical physics. 

• Supports product development and operational research by presenting data-driven insights. 

• Validates model effectiveness using real-world results and refines methodologies as needed. 

• Applies regression models to analyze trends, optimize predictions, and enhance decision-making. 

Key Qualifications: 

• Strong experience in data science, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics. 

• Proficiency in regression models, optimization techniques, and operational research. 

• Hands-on experience with data extraction, manipulation, and visualization. 

• Familiarity with healthcare data and mathematical operations related to medical physics. 

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical leads and developers. 

Core Skills: 

• Data extraction, manipulation, and visualization techniques. 

• Advanced predictive and prescriptive modeling skills. 

• Experience with mathematical optimization model development. 

• Strong UI development skills for presenting data insights in a digestible format for executives and stakeholders. 

Additional Information: 

• Location: 1x a week at 633 Third Ave, New York, NY 

• Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday with Friday  

• Reporting to: Director, Applied Data Science 

• Pay Range: $133,500 - $220,400
