The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is in the midst of a wholescale transformation effort aimed at delivering a force that is ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century. DAF is transforming elements of all phases of its human resource management (HRM) life cycle to meet their people demands.
ManTech will ensure that the DAF’s business processes and supporting information technology platforms fully empower DAF personnel and Guardians to maximize their abilities. Your work on the DTD team will help transform data and enterprise architectures, consolidate and modernize platforms, and integrate AI into human capital business processes.
Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist- Data Migrations to join our team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The Data Scientist will join a team responsible for developing advanced analytics products; applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data to advance and enable the key mission outcomes
The Data Scientist will support all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions, through data collection and ETL, from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers
This role requires special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-maker s that consume insights
Leverage tools and languages such as Python, SQL, R and Java to build algorithms to support machine learning techniques and apply models to generate predictive analytics
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering, Mathematics, or Business
5+ years of relevant experience within data science or analysis
5+ years of relevant experience with programming languages such as Python, R, and query languages such as SQL
3+ years of relevant experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, or equivalent
2+ years of relevant experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle SQL
2+ years of relevant experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading to support advanced analytics
2+ years of relevant experience with a wide range of analytics techniques, such as statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, optimization, simulation, or closely related techniques
Strong strategic communication skills to include presenting quantitative concepts in easy-to-understand formats and actively listening to identify business problems and their causes
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizenship and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time with occasional travel.
