Our Worldline platform takes it a step further by creating a digital twin of POL, observed through synthetic sensors, to boost training, readiness, and mission planning solutions.

We're looking for a talented Data Scientist to help customize Worldline for a special project. Worldline generates synthetic, large-scale, geo-tagged data to simulate human activity, curated by experts to ensure realism while maintaining ethical standards. This state-of-the-art platform is used in AI, data science, higher education, technology demonstrations, and geospatial intelligence, pushing the boundaries of location intelligence and data modeling.

You'll be supporting a research and development project under the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), whose mission is to lead the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for air, space, and cyberspace forces. AFRL is at the forefront of modern technology, delivering innovative solutions that provide a strategic advantage to the U.S. Air Force and Space Force.

This position is 100% remote! We're looking for a candidate who is a U.S. citizen and resides in the contiguous United States. You'll be a W-2 employee of GeoDelphi, Inc., and we do not accept third-party applications. This role requires less than 5% travel, including a two-week stay in Rome, NY, and occasional trips to the DMV area to collaborate with the management team. This position is a mid-to-senior level non-management data scientist and reports to the VP of Engineering.

Remote/Hybrid Work Arrangement:

• If you reside within the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area: This position requires you to work in our Alexandria VA office 2-3 days a week. The remaining days can be worked remotely.
• If you reside outside of the DMV area: This position is 100% remote.

The candidate MUST be a US citizen and reside in the contiguous United States. The candidate must be a W2 employee of GeoDelphi, Inc. No 3rd party applications.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and implement population models, analyzing data to extract insights and communicate findings with engineers and external stakeholders.

• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
• Communicate complex data in a simple and actionable manner.
• Select, manipulate, and transform raw data to improve model accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify relavant features and behaviors for modeling.

·        Collaborate with software developers and engineers to translate research results into production.

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines. A minimum of 10 years of experience in data science can be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience with data modeling tools, SQL, and database management systems
• Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with large-scale data querying.
• Write efficient and scalable code in Python and SQL for data analysis and automation of tasks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and data mining.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills
• Experience with data visualization tools.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in high operational environments.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience with GIS analysis
• Knowledge and experience with spatial and temporal data analytics
• Knowledge of various machine learning algorithms and techniques
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
