Our mission is to provide innovative services critical to society, unlocking a cleaner, better and more profitable future. Working towards this goal, Volue has become a leading technology supplier and enabler of the green transition, helping energy companies simplify and optimize everyday operations.

We are now looking for a Data Scientist who can help us to continuously improve Volue’s ability to provide value to customers in line with the Volue mission.

As a Data Scientist on our team, you will play a central role in applying hydroinformatics across our water solutions portfolio. Our tools assist municipalities in monitoring and managing water and wastewater infrastructure more efficiently - ranging from detecting leaks and water loss to identifying inflow and infiltration (I&I) and optimizing operations. You will take ownership of the models that drive these solutions, ensuring they are reliable, explainable, and continuously improving. This is a great opportunity to work hands-on with real-world data in a domain that has a meaningful impact.

What you will be doing to make a difference:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining predictive models used across our water products
  • Taking ownership of models in production, improving them based on performance, feedback, and changing conditions
  • Collaborating with developers, product managers, and domain experts to translate complex model outputs into actionable insights
  • Keeping the team aligned with best practices in trustworthy and explainable AI
  • Working with domain-specific sensor and geospatial data to develop models relevant for urban water infrastructure
  • Supporting the development of our MLOps toolchains and data pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineers and Software Engineers
  • Helping drive our platform’s evolution by contributing to scalable, flexible, and maintainable ML solutions

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience with the full machine learning lifecycle (exploration, development, deployment, monitoring)
  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and libraries like Pandas and Scikit-learn
  • Experience working with sensor data, time series, or geospatial data is highly beneficial
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based tools and platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure, MLflow)
  • Background in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Strong communication skills - ability to explain complex models clearly to cross-functional teams
  • Interest in, or experience with, water infrastructure, NIS (network information systems), GIS, or urban hydrology. You must be motivated to learn and apply domain knowledge in practice

Reasons to join Volue team and what we offer:

  • Large degree of influence in shaping & developing the role further
  • Great colleagues in one of Europe’s most exciting green tech companies with innovative and international work environment
  • Flexible working hours  & competitive compensation package
