About the role

As our new colleague, you will use machine learning and statistical modelling to improve our risk and pricing models. This is done by analyzing large amount of data, exploring new data sources & machine learning methods, and building end-to-end production grade machine learning pipelines. You will work in our modern analytical platform using SQL, Python, Databricks and dbt.

You will take lead on how we use structured and unstructured vehicle data for pricing in Sweden. You will be able to quickly develop, implement and monitor your improvements. Senior applicants would also have the opportunity to facilitate this work on a Nordic level, ensuring we have good knowledge sharing across If and with our sister companies Topdanmark in and Hastings (in UK).

About the team

Our team is responsible for improving the pricing for our private customers in Sweden, a portfolio of 1.8 million customers. You will belong to a caring and high performing team of 8 people, who are passionate about data, analytics, and modelling. The team is part of an experienced and growing Nordic community who are dedicated to become the best Pricing & Analytics organization in the Nordic insurance market. We’re currently on a journey to explore and implement new and innovative ways to improve our pricing.  

Who are you?

You enjoy working with tech, analytics & data and can communicate your insights to a wide audience of stakeholders. You have the creativity and curiosity to solve complex problem in new ways. You have a proactive attitude, and you challenge yourself to grow. You are structured, thorough, and have a high sense of responsibility.

We also believe that you:

  • Have a master’s degree in mathematics, computer science or engineering, with great results.

  • Think creatively about how to solve problems with machine learning and statistical modelling.

  • Have programming skills in SQL and Python.

  • Are curious to learn and try new technologies.

We’re both looking for more senior candidates and those with a couple of years of relevant experience.
