What's the Data Scientist role at Ditto?
As a Data Scientist, you will be a critical player in extracting, transforming, and analysing data to provide actionable insights that align with our organisational values and goals. You will help build scalable data pipelines and contribute to creating a robust data infrastructure, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and accessible to key stakeholders. Your work will inform decision-making across the company by delivering detailed analysis and visualising data through dashboards and reports that monitor key performance metrics.
In this role, you will dig deep into the data, uncovering trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimisation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly leadership, the People Team, and department heads, to deliver data-driven recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and align with the company's broader strategy. This includes designing systems to gather, manage, and extract critical data for analysis, with a strong focus on automation and scalability.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Extraction & Analysis: Retrieve and transform large datasets from multiple sources to provide accurate, insightful analysis that drives business decisions.
Insight Generation: Dive into the data to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for growth and improvement across various departments, providing in-depth insights to stakeholders.
Data Pipeline Management: Build and maintain automated data pipelines that ensure the continuous flow of clean, reliable data to the teams that need it.
Dashboard & Metrics Monitoring: Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to track and monitor KPIs, offering visibility into the health of the business and key initiatives.
Collaborative Strategy Development: Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to shape data strategies that align with company goals and improve operational outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of the latest data trends, tools, and best practices, applying this knowledge to optimise data processes and improve the organisation's data-driven capabilities.

Charting & Reporting: Knowledge of various visualisations (bar charts, scatter plots, heatmaps) and when to use each.
Data Mining: Ability to explore large datasets and extract meaningful patterns and trends.
Critical Thinking: Strong analytical mindset to assess problems and find data-driven solutions.
Problem-Solving: Experience in troubleshooting data issues and optimising data processes.
KPI Development: Understanding how to define, track, and analyse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to business goals.
ETL Tools: Proficiency in working with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools such as Talend, SSIS, or Alteryx to automate data workflows.
Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery) and experience managing or querying from them.
Database Management: Ability to design and maintain relational and non-relational databases, ensuring data accuracy, security, and scalability.
Statistical Analysis: Knowledge of statistical methods (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing) for deeper data insights.
Predictive Analytics: Familiarity with machine learning models to forecast trends or recommend actions.

Our Interview Process:
