Roche Data Scientists are essential leaders in driving and implementing a broad range of quantitative drug development strategies; they bring data to life and enable the organization to make the best possible data-driven decisions.

As a Data Scientist at Roche Pharma, you’ll actively shape the future of healthcare as a member of Data and Statistical Sciences (DSS) within Product Development (PD) and PD Data Sciences (PDD). 

In the role of statistician, you will be responsible for the strategic and statistical activities of the clinical trials developing molecules in our pipeline on a level matching your seniority. 

Statistician activities span multiple therapeutic areas, a wide range of data types, and collaborations with a variety of experts, all with the goal to develop innovative healthcare solutions for patients and society. 

Your responsibilities in support of our PDD products may include a wide variety of contributions: partnering with key stakeholders, working as a study statistician on clinical trials in our molecule portfolio, supporting specialized business areas, or contributing to key initiatives that shape our statistical, and healthcare environments.  

Your Opportunity: 

  • Support multiple elements of the drug development process across various phases of clinical trials, providing rigorous statistical analysis and expertise.

  • Promote opportunities to simplify processes and innovate, collaborating with experts in DSS, PDD, and beyond to accelerate and deliver patient benefits faster.

  • Lead or contribute to statistical expertise in strategic planning, communication, and implementation to drive successful drug development.

  • Represent DSS and PDD across various functions within the Roche global organization, including partnering with Pharma Research, Early Development, Market Access, and others.

  • Purposefully collaborate with Global Health Authorities and influence stakeholders to support and advance Roche’s product pipeline and statistical capabilities.

  • Continuously broaden statistical knowledge and capabilities while acting as a coach or mentor to colleagues, supporting their growth and development.

  • Explore novel data types, statistical methods, and innovative tools to advance insight generation, demonstrating a high level of system awareness and enhancing data science practices.

Who you are: 

  • Master's or PhD in Statistics, with strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle.

  • Proven ability to establish successful internal partnerships and collaborations.

  • Confident, influential communicator, fluent in spoken and written English.

  • Adaptable and curious, with a growth mindset.

  • Ability to work across a global matrix environment 

  • Travel as required 

Preferred: 

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is preferred. 

  • Knowledge of GCP and international regulations is a plus
