Roche Data Scientists are essential leaders in driving and implementing a broad range of quantitative drug development strategies; they bring data to life and enable the organization to make the best possible data-driven decisions.

As a Data Scientist at Roche Pharma, you’ll actively shape the future of healthcare as a member of Data and Statistical Sciences (DSS) within Product Development (PD) and PD Data Sciences (PDD). 

As an Analytical Data Scientist (ADS) you will be responsible for the strategic and analytical programming activities of the clinical trials for molecules  in our pipeline on a level matching your seniority. 

As an Analytical Data Scientist, you will have the chance to impact multiple therapeutic areas, work with diverse data types, and collaborate with experts to develop innovative healthcare solutions for patients and society. In this role, your responsibilities in support of our PDD products encompass a wide variety of contributions, including partnering with key stakeholders, planning and programming on clinical trials, supporting specialized business areas, and contributing to key initiatives that shape our statistical programming, business, and healthcare environments.

We are excited to bring two exceptional Data Scientists into our Product Development Data team in Mississuaga.

Your Opportunity: 

  • Accountable for the development and implementation of Data Sciences products on clinical trials, supporting multiple elements of statistical programming across various phases.

  • Lead or contribute statistical programming expertise to multiple elements of drug development including strategic planning, communication, and implementation.

  • Innovate and simplify processes by collaborating with experts in DSS, PDD, and beyond to accelerate and deliver patient benefits faster.

  • Represent DSS and PDD across various functions within the Roche global organization, including partnering with Pharma Research, Early Development, Market Access, and others.

  • Build positive relationships and opportunities to collaborate with partners across the Roche global organization, continuously exploring ways to advance insight generation through new innovative tools and technology.

  • Act as a coach, mentor, or buddy to help colleagues grow and develop, while broadening knowledge in programming, open source code, Git, novel data types, statistical methods, programming languages, and analytical methodologies.

  • Contribute statistical programming, therapeutic, and business expertise within and external to DSS and PDD, covering a wide range of areas including research and development products, drug development and clinical trial products, global health authority requirements, data sciences industry landscape, analytical strategies, and best practices.

Who you are: 

  • Master's degree or higher in Statistics or Data Sciences with 5 plus years of proven experience.

  • Proficient in SAS and/or R

  • Consistent track record of establishing successful internal partnerships and collaborations, and ability to work across organizational matrix environment.

  • Confident and adaptable to modern ways of working with an agile and growth mindset.

  • Willingness to travel as required

Preferred: 

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and understanding of the end-to-end drug development lifecycle.

  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and international regulations is a plus.
