Zurich Life Assurance is looking for a Data Scientist to join their Data Analytics team. The successful candidate will help the company get the most out of its data – when servicing its customers & intermediaries or supporting the company’s growth & performance. You will get the opportunity to learn new software skills on a wide range of tools (Python / Tableau / Qlik Replicate & Compose / SQL) and modelling techniques.
As a Data Scientist your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
Key Accountabilities
• Perform data-related functions including analysis, cleansing, mapping and visualisation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand demands, identify new solutions and build/lead their implementation.
• Discover, learn and apply new and existing analytical techniques and tools.
• Work on cross-functional projects to provide new data driven insights.
• Assess the quality of business and technical requirements for future projects.
• Expand Data Warehouse with new sources of data to enrich future and existing reports.
• Identify opportunities for improvements in existing processes to improve efficiency.
• Provide specialist advice to address specific technical queries from internal and external clients. Design and deliver appropriate solutions where necessary.
• Create clear documentation for any changes to existing processes or in the development of new processes.
• Research best practices and review and analyse detailed business models to support senior management in developing and improving processes and systems.
• Act within a number of complex processes and procedures and use in-depth knowledge to solve internal customer issues or escalate appropriately to manager, internal partners or external vendors.
As a Data Scientist your skills and qualifications will include
Required:
• Bachelor’s or postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python and R).
Preferred:
• Experience using Data Visualisation tools (such as Tableau).
• Experience using SQL.
• Experience using ETL tools for Data Warehousing.
• Developing models and analysis of data for clear business use cases.
• Demonstrable presentation, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience performing machine learning, predictive analytics, or other techniques for analysis.
• Experience developing and deploying production level processes.
• Desire and ability to learn new technologies and techniques.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with using Bitbucket or GitHub.
This is a hybrid role which may initially be office based to allow for onboarding (Blackrock office).
