    We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team. You will join the Variant Planning team with a solid technical foundation, problem-solving aptitude, and a passion for contributing to a collaborative team environment. Your primary focus will be developing high-quality AI solutions that meet our business needs and technological standards.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Main focus is the data science scope of the product where to contribute to the short- and long-term agenda 
    • Collaborate with other products, supporting teams and business stakeholders 
    • Focus on individual contribution where you work independently and collaborate closely with other roles in the product team, i.e. DA, MLE, DE, etc.
    • Moderate business understanding related to scope of the product and novice business understanding in general
    • You solve complex problems by turning vast amounts of data into business insights through advanced analytics, modeling and machine learning 
    • Independently work involving exploring large data sets, trying out new algorithms, feature engineering, testing and evaluating model outputs, deploying the solutions for production usage and scale up
    • Formulate/reason a business problem as ML problem and suggest metrics for evaluation

    Competencies:

    • Deep Learning: Have solid experience in using Deep Learning in any of NLP/Computer Vision/ Time Series/Classification/Clustering/RL 
    • Optimization: Knows some techniques for optimization problems
    • Statistics: Can plan A/B testing and clearly explain the results of A/B testing to both technical people as well as Business Experts
    • Python Programming: Comfortable in Coding, structure Project from scratch, develop unit-testing and other testing methods (integration, regression) on its own
    • Proactive Research & Exploration: Ability to suggest improvements/discover bugs in the given projects based on its own initiative
    • Advanced SQL Knowledge
    • Adequate Cloud Knowledge for deploying/debugging ML solutions
    • Comfortable in Plotting and Visualization, (using tools or code)
    • Can correlate Hypothesis to Plots and draw findings
    • Strong foundation in analytics, mathematical modeling, computer science.
    • Solid knowledge and experience: Ability to put theoretical knowledge practical use. Need  some years of experience in practical settings. Being proactive contributor.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5-6 years of experience in data science
    • Proficiency in Python.
    • Theoretical and applied knowledge in statistics.
    • Theoretical and applied knowledge in machine learning.
    • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
    • Familiarity with production grade software development.
    • Takes clear ownership of deliverables.
    • Eagerness to learn.

    This is a full-time position based in Bengaluru, India.
