The NIQ North America Data Science team is passionate about solving complex client challenges and providing data-driven, actionable, timely, and innovative solutions.  This Data Scientist Intern position was created to support our North America Data Science initiatives. 

This position requires someone who is passionate about learning, multi sourced data, data quality, statistical measurement, automation, and efficiency. 

Job Description

  • Support the Data Science team in day-to-day tasks such as data cleaning, data validation, data extraction, and data analysis.  
  • Assist and work together with associates on creating new solutions, use cases, proof of concept, and prototypes by exploring diverse data sets using tools such as Python.  
  • Support associate to automate and develop solutions for existing processes, propose new data visualization/update the existing dashboard.  
  • Maintain positive working relationships and open communication across relevant teams to ensure delivery to client expectations and satisfaction.  
  • Ensure that the company’s regional and global standards are always adhered to at all times.  
  • To support any team projects / other duties as and when deemed necessary. 
  • Provide explanations to teams in a format that meets their level of understanding. 
  • Evaluate and translate current methodologies. 

Qualifications

  • Current Undergraduate Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Computing, Engineering, or related fields.  
  • Curiosity to learn and continually upgrade skills. 
  • Disposition to understand processes and methodologies. 
  • Quantitative aptitude. 
  • Problem solving skills. 
  • Proficiency with Python and SQL. 
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written skills. 
  • Good command of written and spoken English. 
  • Good collaborative and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels. 
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI). 
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 

Additional Information

This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00.
