About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Science Intern with strong Python coding skills to contribute to real-world data science projects in container operations. You will work with PSA’s data science team to develop predictive models, analyze operational data, and create insightful visualizations using Power BI. Additionally, experience with PowerApps or Python GUI development (e.g., Tkinter, PyQt, Streamlit) would be a plus for building interactive applications to support decision-making in port operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Python scripts for data analysis and predictive modeling.
• Implement machine learning models to support operations.
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for efficiency improvements in port operations.
• Develop Power BI dashboards to visualize real-time port operations, container logistics, and key performance metrics.
• Develop interactive applications using Microsoft PowerApps or Python GUI frameworks (e.g., Tkinter, PyQt, Streamlit) to support decision-making in operational workflows.
• Supervised by data scientists to apply AI and advanced analytics for operational improvements.
• Document code, workflows, and findings for knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills, with experience in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks.
• Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization is a plus.
• Experience with PowerApps or Python GUI development (e.g., Tkinter, PyQt, Streamlit) for building interactive applications is a plus.
• Passion for data-driven innovation in logistics and container operations.
