SambaNova Systems is seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller to build, lead, and scale a high functioning and efficient Accounting department as we continue on our path of hyper-growth. 

We are looking for a hands-on leader with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining rigor, detail, and compliance. The Corporate controller will be responsible for owning and managing company-wide accounting functions including reporting, processes, systems, and compliance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own and oversee day-to-day accounting functions including business accounting, cash postings and daily bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, and fixed asset accounting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP in all accounting areas, including revenue (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), and equity (ASC 505 and 718)
  • Lead year end audits as well as other special audits for the global company as necessary
  • Own and oversee monthly and quarterly close and reporting including preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Lead and coordinate the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and internal reporting processes
  • Manage local international entities and accounting functions
  • Own company-wide accounting process and systems
  • Assist with leading corporate tax strategy, tax return completion, and sales tax matters
  • Partner with the FP&A department on all financial planning requirements such as monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
  • Drive a strong controllership mindset throughout the company by providing appropriate financial support in the attainment of operational goals and objectives

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-15+ years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • Active CPA licensure required 
  • Experience working at a technology-focused company
  • Previous experience working for a public accounting firm
  • Experience hiring, training, and managing teams of accounting professionals
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and disclosures under US GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions such as pivot tables and macros
  • Experience working with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Oracle ERP, Coupa, Carta, etc. 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory tracking, revenue recognition, leasing, and stock compensation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders throughout the company, and interface with senior leadership and board members
  • Strong analytical, verbal communication, written communication, and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to influence and uphold company-wide processes and policies 
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Annual Salary Range and Level:
The base salary for this position ranges from $205k-295k per year. This range is based on role, level, and location and reflects the salary target for new hires in the US. Individual pay within the range will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s job-related qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
