As the Controller of d-Matrix, a dynamic Series B semiconductor startup, you will be crucial in managing and overseeing all aspects of accounting, controls, worldwide payroll, equity management, and related areas. Your expertise will ensure our company's financial health and accounting/regulatory compliance as we innovate and grow. This role requires a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with a deep understanding of accounting principles, payroll systems, equity administration, and financial controls.

What You Will Do:

Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

Accounting Management:

• Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and revenue recognition.

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Internal Controls:

• Design, implement, and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure

financial integrity.

• Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Payroll Management:

• Oversee worldwide payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee payments.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations.

Equity Administration:

• Manage the company’s equity program, including stock option grants, vesting schedules, and related employee communications.

• Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of equity transactions.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to senior management.

Tax Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including income, sales, payroll, and other relevant taxes.

• Coordinate with external tax advisors for preparation and filing of tax returns.

Financial Analysis:

• Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to support strategic decision-making.

• Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Audit Coordination:

• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during financial and compliance audits.

• Prepare and provide necessary documentation and support for audit processes.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

• Recruit, train, and retain top talent within the finance department.

Systems Implementation:

• Evaluate and implement accounting software and systems to improve financial processes and reporting capabilities.

• Ensure seamless integration of financial systems with other business operations.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay current with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Ensure company compliance with financial regulations and standards.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred with a minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Must be detail-oriented and balance multiple responsibilities and tasks while meeting deadlines.

• Solid computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel and working with a large ERP/Financial System

• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives.

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and outside parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
