Job Summary

Business Unit and Role Overview:

You’ll be part of the Finance Transformation team, a group focused on advancing the CFO agenda through innovative, technology-enabled advisory services. Working across various industries in the Middle East, this team undertakes projects that include defining finance strategy, designing finance operating models, and enhancing performance management frameworks. The team delivers in-depth expertise across Industrial Products, Telecom, Financial Services, Oil and Gas, and Government.

The AI Finance Transformation Manager will lead finance transformation initiatives with a strong focus on AI and digital finance integration, supporting PwC’s Digital Finance Value Proposition. This role requires a strategic and hands-on approach to implementing advanced technologies, optimizing finance processes, and empowering clients to unlock value through data-driven insights and automation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies, enhance performance, and shape the future of finance in an AI-enabled environment.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Function Strategy and Transformation

  • Lead finance function assessments to identify and prioritize opportunities for AI and machine learning (ML) applications, enabling predictive insights, automation, and enhanced financial planning.
  • Design AI-integrated finance operating models to improve efficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while addressing industry-specific challenges.
  • Develop and refine finance policies, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure that digital solutions align with strategic goals and adhere to industry best practices.

Digital Finance Roadmap and AI Implementation

  • Define and implement AI-focused digital finance roadmaps in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring alignment with PwC’s broader digital transformation strategy.
  • Support the development and deployment of predictive and prescriptive analytics models to drive informed decision-making and optimize financial performance.
  • Continuously measure and report on the impact of AI/ML initiatives, providing stakeholders with clear, actionable insights into improvements in financial and operational performance.

Process Design and Automation

  • Drive end-to-end process optimization across core finance areas such as Record to Report (R2R), Procure to Pay (P2P), and Order to Cash (O2C), leveraging AI and automation for increased process efficiency.
  • Lead digital finance tool implementations, ensuring seamless integration with AI solutions and interoperability across finance systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and data governance teams to maintain data integrity and security within automated finance processes, meeting compliance requirements.

Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and execute change management plans to facilitate AI and automation adoption within the finance function, tailoring coaching and training to client environments.
  • Engage cross-functional teams to promote AI-driven finance solutions, establishing buy-in and alignment with broader business goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to team members, fostering a culture of proactive knowledge-sharing, coaching, and AI competency-building.

Industry Expertise and Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage your industry expertise in sectors such as Industrial Products, Telecom, Financial Services, Oil and Gas, or Government to contextualize AI applications for finance transformation.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements in AI and ML, evaluating their relevance and applicability to the finance transformation agenda.
  • Build relationships with technology vendors to explore and assess AI tools that align with PwC’s Finance Transformation goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing and deploying AI/ML models for finance functions, such as predictive forecasting, anomaly detection, and data-driven insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Hands-on skills in predictive analytics for cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning using models like ARIMA, LSTM, or similar time-series forecasting techniques.
  • Proficiency in NLP and large language models (LLMs) for automating financial reporting, summarizing complex data sets, and building conversational AI (e.g., chatbots) to support finance team queries and reporting.
  • Strong skills in RPA and intelligent automation for finance process optimization, with experience in automating tasks like invoice processing, reconciliations, and data consolidation using machine learning-driven workflows.
  • Competence in data engineering practices for secure, reliable data management, with familiarity in data transformation and pre-processing techniques essential for high-quality financial model performance.

  • Advanced skills in Python, R, SQL for finance-specific data analysis, with the ability to design visualizations in Tableau or Power BI to communicate AI-generated insights and facilitate data exploration.
  • Experience with integrating AI solutions within ERP and finance platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, OneStream), using APIs and custom integrations to enable seamless data flows and real-time analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional finance transformation projects, lead AI-driven implementations, and guide teams through change management, technical upskilling, and knowledge-sharing.
  • The ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East or where the project requirements dictate.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree or MBA in Finance, Technology, Data Science, or related fields preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline required.

Experience:

  • 6-8 years of experience in finance transformation, FP&A, or digital finance, with 3-4 years focused on AI and data-driven finance transformation (e.g., predictive forecasting, automated reporting, intelligent process automation).
