Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Looker BI Developer with 5 to 7 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building and maintaining Looker dashboards, data models, and reports using GCP and/or Azure technologies. You will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage LookML(Model Language) models, dashboards, and visualizations in Looker to provide stakeholders with valuable insights.
• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for reporting solutions.
• Optimize existing reports and dashboards for performance and usability.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with data engineers to ensure data integrity and availability for reporting purposes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Looker dashboards or data sources.
• Create documentation for Looker reports, dashboards, and best practices for end-users.
• Stay updated on the latest features and enhancements in Looker and related technologies.

Required Skills

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Looker development (LookML) and dashboard creation.
  • Strong experience with SQL for querying databases.
  • Familiarity with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or Azure tech stack.
  • Experience with data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema).
  • Knowledge of BI tools beyond Looker is a plus (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Analytical Skills:
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data-related issues.
• Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
