Role Summary

  • Lead the development of a manifesto and project plan for the "Towns Fund," a collaboration between issuer and leading payment processer to uplift local communities through banking and payment solutions.

  • This role combines strategic planning, market research, and stakeholder engagement to design initiatives that align with the shared vision and values of issuer and payment processor, delivering long-term value to communities and small businesses.

  • Bring creativity, community focus, and a deep understanding of financial services, along with experience in charitable initiatives, financial literacy programs, or similar community-oriented projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Manifesto and Project Plan:

  • Create a manifesto that reflects the mission and vision of the "Towns Fund" initiative.

  • Draft a comprehensive 12-month plan of activities to enhance the standing of issuer and payment processor among local communities, government, and small businesses.

  • Envision a scalable 5-year strategy to ensure the long-term impact and success of the initiative.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Conduct interviews and workshops with stakeholders from payment processor, issuer/bank, local councils, and community organizations.

  • Collaborate with charitable organizations, SMEs, and entrepreneurs to identify key opportunities for community impact.

Market Research:

  • Analyze past initiatives by payment processor and bank/issuer to identify best practices and lessons learned.

  • Conduct research on community needs in areas where issuer branches operate.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Identify and propose charitable engagements, financial literacy programs, and SME-focused propositions.

  • Suggest potential partnerships and sponsorships with local and regional brands aligned with Nationwide’s values.

  • Develop actionable initiatives under themes like "Talk of the Town," "She’s Next," and other payment processor-led programs.

Budget Management:

  • Work within a £5 million budget to design impactful initiatives.

  • Prioritize activities that deliver measurable benefits to communities and align with strategic goals.

Impact Measurement and Reporting:

  • Define metrics to evaluate the success of the initiative.

  • Develop regular reports to share progress with stakeholders.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:

    • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets.

    • Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including corporate clients, government entities, and SMEs.

    • Strategic thinking and creativity to design impactful initiatives that align with corporate values.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to draft compelling manifestos and reports.

    • Proven experience in project management, especially in community upliftment, charitable work, or financial literacy programs.

  • Skills:

    • Exceptional research and analytical skills.

    • Strong project planning and execution capabilities.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    • Budget management experience.

    • Creative problem-solving and a proactive approach to challenges.
