Mission

The Cloud Engineering Lead at rocket code will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based infrastructure (primarily on Google Cloud Platform). This role involves designing robust cloud architectures, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), developing automated CI/CD pipelines, and supervising ongoing technical support. The ideal candidate will guarantee operational continuity, align infrastructure operations with security and compliance standards, and proactively lead technical teams to foster continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture
• Design, implement, and manage scalable and resilient cloud architectures, primarily within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery (BCP/DRP), and adherence to best practices for infrastructure efficiency and security.
• Infrastructure Automation (IaC)
• Lead infrastructure automation initiatives using Terraform and Ansible, ensuring rapid, repeatable, and secure provisioning and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain accurate infrastructure definitions and documentation using YAML and other configuration languages.
• CI/CD Pipeline Implementation
• Design and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms.
• Facilitate DevOps best practices across development and operational teams.
• Monitoring, Observability & Logging
• Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver) for infrastructure and applications.
• Ensure proactive identification, diagnosis, and resolution of operational incidents.
• Networking & Security
• Maintain and manage network components such as VPNs, DNS, load balancers, and storage solutions within the cloud environment.
• Continuously apply security best practices to infrastructure operations, maintaining compliance with relevant security frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
• Leadership & Team Management
• Lead technical and support teams effectively, managing operational incidents, ensuring compliance with SLAs, and maintaining high standards for customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, fostering proactive communication and agile methodologies across teams.

Requirements

• Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Desirable certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, ITIL certification.
• Technical Experience
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
• Advanced proficiency with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver).
• Strong knowledge of networking, VPN, DNS, load balancing, storage solutions, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Programming & Automation Languages (Desirable)

• Working Conditions
