The Opportunity
Atheneum is seeking a Business Development Director, Surveys to drive growth across our North American teams. In this role, you will focus on expanding our surveys business by identifying new opportunities, managing a pipeline, and closing revenue with a true “hunter” mindset.
This position requires strong quantitative research expertise to understand client needs and strategically position Atheneum’s survey solutions to support their goals. While experience in life sciences is a plus, it is not required. B2B sales experience is also advantageous. Success in this role will require staying ahead of industry trends, effective client relationship management, and strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted partner for their survey and research needs.
• Leverage your network to identify and secure new business opportunities, tailoring survey solutions to client objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality, data-driven insights that exceed client expectations.
• Lead negotiation and contract management processes, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
• Stay informed on market trends in surveys and quantitative research to position Atheneum as a top-tier partner.
• Provide mentorship to an associate-level sales team
Job Requirements
• Proven success in business development, with a strong ability to identify and close new opportunities.
• Expertise in quantitative research and survey methodologies.
• Experience building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to monitor market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Results-driven with a track record of exceeding business development targets.
• Experience in life sciences or B2B sales
• Previous experience in market research, expert networks, or consulting is a plus
What We Offer
Base salary of $120,000–$140,000 USD
Bonus Potential: Up to $75,000
