JOB SUMMARY

Under administrative guidance and review, the Biostatistician II collaborates in designing and monitoring biomedical research projects and assumes primary responsibility for the analysis and presentation of project data. Responsibilities include collaborating with medical investigators on the design, conduct, analysis, and presentation of single- and multi-center research projects and clinical trials. Experience with consulting and statistical programming, especially SAS, Python and/or R, are preferred.  Experience with genetic and genomics data is preferred. Experience with a high performance computing environment is preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics or Bachelor's degree in a related area with three years of experience in statistics. Experience in analyzing data using statistical package(s). 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Collaborates with biomedical investigators and assist in developing objectives, designing sampling, randomization and data collection procedures to achieve study objectives.
  2. Designs tables and statistical procedures for specific research studies.
  3. Collaborates with clinic and other personnel, including analyst/programmers in monitoring and assessing data quality.
  4. Writes statistical computer programs and reviews computer output for consistency and quality.
  5. Analyzes data and prepares tables for interim and final reports.
  6. Writes the results section of the reports or publications.
  7. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to organize data and communicate statistical concepts to non-statisticians
  • Experience in the design and analysis of health and clinical studies Knowledge and experience with SAS
