About the Role

nybl is looking to appoint our new Bids and Tenders Manager. We are looking for an individual who can lead and project-manage some of our largest bids, improve our overall bids and tenders operation (including frameworks, collateral), and coach and upskill the wider Sales & Delivery team. You will be responsible for the quality of all aspects of the bid, including written documentation and presentations - bringing together existing and new expertise across all of nybl’s offering.

What you'll do

The ideal Bid Manager should be highly motivated, innovative, customer-focused, and have a 'can do’ attitude. They should be an experienced manager, have excellent project management skills, able to motivate and inspire others, have persuasive and clear writing skills, and obtain a high level of work from subject matter experts to ensure all deadlines are met efficiently and that the bid is of the highest quality possible.

  • Management of the end-to-end bid process and production and delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals and government tender responses within customer defined timeframe
  • Undertake a Bid/No Bid exercise to decide whether to submit.
  • Understand the tender requirements, decide timelines and responsibilities for all aspects of the project - identifying resource requirements to complete the bid on time.
  • Ensure that clarification questions are posted in good time and responses are communicated.
  • Ensuring a bid delivery plan is in place and that the team is aware of their role in the bid delivery and have time allocated
  • Gather technical, commercial, financial, and legal information from the business in a structured manner.
  • Arrange further scheduled meetings of the bid team at key stages if necessary, depending on the size and complexity of the bid
  • Engage with the identified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who will be responsible for providing content in response to the tender document
  • Play a drafting and editorial role on certain aspects of bid responses
  • Set up, populate, update, and publish a bid tracker to ensure the bid team knows the schedule.
  • Follow up with SMEs - prompting with updates where timelines are lagging.

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for a capable communicator with experience of self-motivated project delivery. You will have hands on experience designing bids for clients or projects in the $10m+ range. In addition to this we are also looking for.

  • Demonstrable experience in bid management and an understanding of how this fits within wider business development context
  • Some experience of management of a knowledge database
  • Relevant tender experience with government or the wider public sector clients
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment, where you will be a strategic thinker and planner, but also happy getting stuck in with execution and delivery.
  • You will have a high degree of autonomy and so will need a passion for driving things forward yourself, while bringing others with you
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Tuned to customer requirements and focused on meeting their needs
  • Good bid writing and presentational skills
