Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage Velero or Kasten K10 with S3-compatible on-prem object storage (e.g., MinIO, Synology).
• Design and implement geo-replicated storage using Longhorn, Portworx, or Rook-Ceph to meet:
• RPO ≤ 15 minutes
• RTO ≤ 1 hour
• Conduct quarterly failover drills and provide documented compliance evidence.
• Collaborate with platform and DevOps teams to integrate backup and DR processes into CI/CD pipelines.

Core Skills & Tools

• Backup Tools: Velero, Kasten K10
• Storage Solutions: Rook-Ceph, Portworx, Longhorn
• Object Storage: MinIO, NetApp ONTAP, Synology S3
• Disaster Recovery: HA architecture, DR automation and validation

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in high availability storage and disaster recovery.
• 2+ years working with Kubernetes-native backup solutions.
• Certifications:
• CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
• Or vendor-specific storage certifications (e.g., NetApp, Portworx)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Rancher-managed Kubernetes clusters
• Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., ISO, NCA, GDPR)
