Wayfair is looking for an Associate Director of Analytics to join our industry-leading team that owns core platforms and services that allow our customers to discover and buy the products they love. Our systems leverage Wayfair’s extensive data to deliver trusted and valuable recommendations and results in real time using custom machine learning models. Our mission-critical services are called over a billion times a day. Our domain includes core competencies for Wayfair and are high priority levers to drive outsized growth, customer value, and profitability.
What You'll Do:
- Influence executive management (up to the C-suite) to define and execute analytics and site testing roadmap to support key business initiatives.
- Collaborate on a daily basis with a cross-functional team of engineers, Machine Learning Scientists, and Product Managers.
- Hire, manage, and coach a high performing team of analysts. Coach and develop team managers.
- Own and develop the strategic analytic agenda to unlock insights and guide the business - everything from identifying, testing and optimizing new features to broad level strategic direction that is grounded in data evidence and heavy analytical rigor.
- Be responsible for monitoring customer behavior on our websites to identify and resolve issues, executing the strategic testing, web analytics, and insights agenda.
- Proactively identify areas where analytical efforts can produce strong business value add and set the analytics roadmap.
- Create organizational designs to optimally serve multiple stakeholder groups and business units.
- Provide leadership to corporate initiatives which requires the ability to work with executives and being a thought partner with a cross-functional leadership team.
- Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization.
- Prioritize resources and hiring across multiple areas and balancing short-term needs with longer-term initiatives.
We Are A Match Because You Have:
- 7+ years of analytics experience with a history of delivering successful products across the full product lifecycle.
- Bachelors in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, MIS, or other quantitative discipline; Masters preferred.
- Proven experience managing diverse teams and growing analysts.
- Excellent communication & the ability to tailor it to different stakeholders.
- Experience defining a clear strategy with a robust roadmap and delivering against it.
- Experience designing and implementing highly visible, complex, and innovative analytical solutions that drive business decision making.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and technical abilities along with problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated success influencing senior level stakeholders on strategic direction based on recommendations backed by in-depth analysis.
- Familiarity with ML and experience working with data scientists and engineers.
- In-depth experience with SQL and Python & Python tools.
- Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decision making, highly preferred.
- Experience in eCommerce or with recommender systems is a plus.
