Artificial Intelligence Intern - Master's or PhD
United States, San Mateo: this role must be completed in a hybrid capacity out of the SIE-PlayStation San Mateo, CA office.
About the Team:
We are an innovative research and development team specializing in cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions. Our focus lies in audio, video, and graphics technologies, with a particular emphasis on automated AI content generation for game development. Our work includes Emotional Speech Synthesis, Voice Conversion, and other areas that generate naturalistic speech from text. By tackling these challenges, we aim to deliver both short-term and long-term solutions for PlayStation Studios, Console Platform groups, and future cloud gaming platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Research and develop state-of-the-art machine learning and AI solutions.
Create proof-of-concept projects and cutting-edge technology prototypes.
Enhance features within our existing research portfolio to cater to a larger set of users.
Develop and apply AI and deep learning algorithms, and conduct experiments to optimize AI model performance.
What We’re Looking For:
Currently pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation by Spring 2026.
Experience applying machine learning and deep learning algorithms to audio, speech, or computer vision tasks.
Strong technical background in machine learning, mathematics, or computer science.
Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
Solid understanding of machine learning theory, architectures, and current research trends.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
Eligibility:
Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.
