Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.
Subfamily Description
Software (SWA) comprises the definition, specification, and allocation of requirements from different sources utilising knowledge of systems engineering processes (specification & architecture). Contains processing of use case and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical requirements, and functional description. Covers specification, design, implementation, and unit testing of Software (e.g. device drivers, microcode, hardware-related software & firmware) according to the requirements and architecture defined in the systems engineering process. Covers establishment and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices into software development projects, continuously building and integrating infrastructure tools and systems.
You will contribute to the development and enhancement of Nokia's AI Studio platform, working under the guidance of the Lead Architect and in collaboration with senior team members. This role involves hands-on coding, data processing pipeline development, and assisting in integrating AI/ML capabilities to advance the platform's functionality. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your expertise in AI-centric and SaaS solutions while contributing to transformative innovations in the telecom sector.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Feature Development:
- Implement and test components of the AI Studio platform, focusing on feature enhancements and performance optimization.
- Support the integration of data sources, ensuring compatibility with the semantic layer and data catalog.
- Data Infrastructure Support:
- Assist in developing and maintaining real-time and batch data pipelines.
- Participate in the implementation of hybrid compute solutions across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Data Governance and Quality:
- Support the application of data governance policies, including data lineage and quality checks, to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Collaboration and Team Engagement:
- Work closely with senior developers and the Lead Architect to ensure your contributions align with the overall technical vision.
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate smooth integration of their systems and datasets into the platform.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement:
- Stay current with best practices in software development, cloud technologies, and AI/ML integration.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions to refine and improve the development process.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (o equivalent experience).
- 4-6+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or simila
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data processing frameworks.
- Basic understanding of MLOps pipelines, data governance, and analytics tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
